The complete set of 10 prints loose in a cloth covered portfolio with ties and an etching of three heads pasted on the cover; with the justification sheet and title page. Of the 10 plates only Plate IX is signed and inscribed: 'IX'.
All very good impressions in excellent condition.

The justification sheet states: 'The copper plates were engraved/etched by
DOLF RIESER and pulled by Joseph Hecht, by hand on Montval paper. Each proof is numbered and signed by the artist.' There was also one unique set pulled which included all the original drawings, a complete suite containing all the state proofs and one double suite of all the definitive states marked 'A'. In addition there are a 100 examples/sets numbered 1 to 100. However, research has shown that not all the sets were signed and numbered and this has been confirmed by the artist's family.
