Paperback

ISBN: 1 85437 467 2
Lynn Chadwick was one of the leading British sculptors of the post-war generation. Born in 1914, Chadwick began his career as an architectural draughtsman, but took up sculpture without any formal training after the Second World War, winning the International Sculpture Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1956. Although his work is represented in many ajor museum collections world-wide, no concise introduction to his work has been published.
This book was published on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of his sculpture at Tate Britain. It is the first to undertake a detailed critical explaination of Chadwick's career. Dennis Farr has incorporated many of the artist's own comments about his work, made during interviews and discussion recorded at Lypiatt Park, Chadwick's hom,e in Gloucestershire. The text is complemented by superb photographs of the sculptures spanning fifty years of Chadwick's working life. £15.00 CONTACT GALLERY
