27 January - 4 February 2018
This is the first time the gallery will participate in BRAFA, and the first time the gallery will bring to Brussels works by British, European and American artists.
The gallery’s principal specialism is Modern British sculpture, paintings and prints with a particular emphasis on the work of Henry Moore and Lynn Chadwick and the other artists of the post war generation.
A significant highlight of the exhibition will be an exceptionally rare and unique collection of collages and experimental photography by Erwin Blumenfeld, mostly made in Amsterdam in the 1920s. Blumenfeld embraced surrealism and became the self styled President of the Dutch Dadaist movement. He moved to New York and became one of the world’s best known photographers in the 1940s and 1950s.
The presentation at BRAFA will also include works by Lucian Freud, David Hockney and Barbara Hepworth.
