Sonia Delaunay 1885-1979Russian painter who settled in Paris in 1905. Married Robert Delaunay and with him was a pioneer of abstract painting. After World War 1 she concentrated on textile and fashio design but returned to painting in the late 1930s. She exhibited regularly from the early 1950s and held retrospectives in Paris in 1967 and in Lisbon in 1972.

There were 100 sets completed, 75 of which were numbered 1 and 25 which were designated artist proofs and numbered from I – XXV. Printed at the 2RC Workshop in Rome by Eleanora and Walter Rossi.
