Over the last five decade, Maqbool Fida Husain has experimented with various media including painting, poetry, print making, sculpture and photography. His creativity behind the camera has resulted in 3 major projects: ‘Through the Eyes of a Painter’, a 20-minute film which won the Golden Bear award at the International Berlin Film Festival in 1967, ‘Gaja Gamini’, which centres around a Bollywood muse, and more recently, ‘Meenaxi’. Husain published a book of poems and serigraphs in 1972, titles, ‘Poetry to be Seen’. In 1980, he exhibited a suite of photographs titles, ‘Culture of the Streets’, that was exhibited in Mumbai, London and Montreal.
