Our summer season continues with an exhibition of Modern British paintings and sculpture, featuring exceptional new acquisitions by artists and estates we represent. This exhibition coincides with our first anniversary located in Cork Street, in the heart of Mayfair. The collection will be shown first at the gallery with selected works at the Treasure House Fair in Chelsea.
The exhibition features exceptional new acquisitions by artists and estates we represent. Many of the pictures and sculptures come from private collections. Highlights include two important oils by Frank Auerbach, a remarkable early work by Ben Nicholson dedicated to his daughter, a richly painted Hitchens from 1949 and a Lowry oil from a pivotal moment in his career.
Sculpture remains central to the gallery, with outstanding works by Lynn Chadwick and Henry Moore, artists the gallery has specialised in for over thirty years, as well as Kenneth Armitage, Reg Butler and Eduardo Paolozzi. We also have some notable additions to our collections of Keith Vaughan, John Craxton and other leading twentieth-century British artists.
