Osborne Samuel return to Armory Modern with an important exhibition by leading British post war Modernist sculptors such as Moore, Chadwick, Hepworth, Armitage and Meadows, all of whom came to international recognition in the 1950s and 1960s. Painters include William Scott, Victor Pasmore and Peter Kinley whose first major overseas exhibition was at the Rosenberg Gallery New York in 1961. […]

Osborne Samuel are delighted to be returning to Art Miami, this year for the 27th time. Once again we have a very strong collection of British sculpture, with new acquisitions by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Lynn Chadwick. We will also be showing new contemporary sculpture by Sean Henry following on from his successful exhibition in London in November this year.

So much has been happening with Sean Henry since our last show at the gallery in 2012. In the last year alone he has had solo exhibitions in New York, Brussels and Bad Homburg, Germany. Sean’s work has continued to evolve, both in scale and complexity, his working methods are the same, his subjects perhaps more challenging and diverse. His sculptures continue to surprise and in settings as diverse as Glyndebourne Opera or the lofty heights of Salisbury Cathedral they take on a new dimension, composing a new and stimulating dialogue with the viewer. His figures are never static, always on the cusp of an unknown transformative experience, either spiritual and physical. […]

The exhibition is now open to the public. It has been exceptionally well received with considerable media interest and gallery visitors. The exhibition includes rare works from the estate including early collages and photomontages and his earliest experimental photography. The show spans his career from Berlin to Amsterdam, Paris and then New York where he was acclaimed as one of the most important photographers of the 20th century.
