Waterstones and Lund Humphries are delighted to announce the first in a series of Salon events celebrating 75 years of art book publishing. Michael Bird discusses his new book on Lynn Chadwick with Peter Osborne, director of Osborne Samuel Gallery, where a major exhibition celebrating Chadwick’s centenary runs from 15 May-28 June. They will revisit the 1950s’ art scene, when Chadwick became the first young British sculptor to find international fame. The Festival of Britain, Austerity, Cold War – it was an era of huge changes and challenges, captured by the new spirit in British sculpture, and nowhere more potently than in the art of Lynn Chadwick.
